The Halcyon system has been successfully commissioned in Tyumen Medical City Center
Press-releases
The photo shows our specialist Olesya Mironova with the specialists of the Tyumen Medical City, where the Halcyon system was successfully commissioned. You must have guessed that this device was manufactured by Fabrika, but this news is about something else.
Olesya is a specialist in radiation therapy and medical physics at the Fabrika RTT and part-time medical physicist at FSBI National Medical Research Center of Oncology named after N.N. Blokhin. In other words, the competency is on the TOP! She can commissioning any linacs, but she admits that working on Halcyon is faster, easier, and safer.
It took her only 3 days to validate the machine in Tyumen. By the way, a similar procedure for C-type linacs usually takes 2 weeks. The difference is palpable because of the radiation tests and beam model are performed at our plant but not at the customer's clinic.
After installation, medical physicist should only perform the final dosimetric tests with the water phantom and compare with the dosimetric data entered into the planning system. The entire procedure follows a strictly defined steps, and measurements are performed in accordance with Varian's specific documentation. Everything is clear and fast.
We thank Olesya and specialists of Tyumen Medical City for their well-coordinated work and wonderful photos! We wish success to everybody!
P.S. Very soon we will publish the checklist on preparation for absolute dosimetry for Halcyon, which will become a useful cheat sheet for regular QA!
