By the end of 2022, Fabrika RTT will manufacture its 30th domestically produced Halcyon linear accelerator

Since the start of production of the Halcyon® system in Fabrika at the end of 2021, it has manufactured more than 25 units of this model for deliveries as part of the federal project " Fighting Against Cancer ". By the end of 2022, the number of devices produced by Fabrika RTT will increase to 30 units.

"Just one year ago, our factory started full-scale production of Halcyon accelerators in several modifications, and by the end of 2022 we will produce the anniversary thirtieth accelerator of this model. But I want to emphasize that thirty is not the limit of our production capacity. This is just the early period, the first year", said Andrey Popov, Director General of Fabrika RTT. - Even assuming that production of each Halcyon consists of over two thousand operations, including radiation testing in a special vault, next year our facility will be able to reach a capacity of up to fifty accelerators per year. Given the ongoing demand in the Russian oncology for the replacement of older linear accelerators and cobalt gamma ray machines, we are ready to meet this demand," said Popov.

The Halcyon linear accelerator meets the high technological requirements of radiotherapy departments. The main reasons for a high demand are its clinical efficiency and advantages such as its compact size, capacity of more than 100 patients per day, quick installation and commissioning without compromising on quality, and accelerated training of medical staff through a highly automated workflow - the device will not allow the treatment to start if the operator's actions are not in line with the treatment sequence and plan.

Halcyon radiotherapy system is intended to provide stereotactic radiosurgery and precision radiotherapy for lesions, tumors, and conditions anywhere in the body when radiation treatment is indicated.

Owing to Halcyon a session of radiation therapy is reduced more than twice in comparison with conventional linacs and makes up about 8 minutes from the patient's entry to the treatment room to the exit from it, instead of 15 minutes with C-type machines. This helps to solve the problem with queues for treatment and make it more accessible. The radiation session takes not more than 2 minutes, which is very important for patients with pain syndrome.
